Historical synthesis:

In 1960 the card was placed at the initiative of the municipal PCC, fulfilling the orientation of building monuments to pay tribute to victims of tyranny.

Construction was carried out by local bricklayers. In a mass political act it was inaugurated that same year with the participation of members of the municipal PCC.

EVENT: During the passage through Matanzas of the 1895 invasion, A Maceo's troops camped in El Desquite. A combative action took place when the insurgent camp was attacked by a Spanish guerrilla, which was defeated by the Mambises, at the cost of 12 Mambisa casualties.

Historical synthesis:

It is the youngest of the municipality's commemorative buildings. It was built at the request and initiative of culture workers in 1982, a work carried out by the Arab sculptor Antonio Mederos.

EVENT: The police station was attacked by rebels in this area, causing a confrontation in which 3 militiamen died.

Historical synthesis:

At the request of the municipal PNR, in 1966 a small obelisk was built, to somehow pay tribute to the guard militiamen, who were doing their duty, when there was a shooting by elements unaffected by the revolution.
